Workflow Update
I’ve been a lifestreamer before I knew what the term was. When I found Tumblr last year, loved the clean, simple interface and powerful skinning options. It’s a great way to get started in this space. That said, lifestreaming tech has matured, and Tumblr doens’t fit into my workflow like it used to.
I’m switching to a combination of FriendFeed and Google Reader. Google Reader now has a "Share This" item for including web pages I come across. Since I already use Google Reader, I’m reducing the number of services, and FriendFeed works a lot better as a content aggregator than Tumblr.
I still recommend Tumblr for people who don’t have a lot of online services to aggregate or don’t use Google Reader. It’s a wonderful service, but it’s time for mature lifestreamers to grow up.
